BLUF:  It's a simple place in a strip mall, but he sushi is good and the people are friendly.

I went only for sushi, so this review is based solely on that.

They have a decent selection of fish, and it was pretty well prepared.  A couple of pieces weren't pressed together very well and fell apart, but not a big deal. My biggest complaint was that I got some bone in my yellowfin, which jabbed me in the gums.  The rest of the sushi was good, but once that happened I was kinda tentative with all the future pieces for fear of finding more bone.  The spicy tuna role wasn't very spicy, and I thought the tuna was a little mushy to me.  It wasn't bad, but not the best.

I know others have complained here about wait times and such, but I went for an early dinner on a weekday, so there were very few people there.  My service was good, but I have no idea what it would be like if there was more of a crowd

This place needs a serious upgrade with their cooks. The rice in the sushi roll did not have any hint of mirin (rice wine vinegar) and the texture appeared day old rice.

The grilled meats (chicken and beef) were definitely over cooked.

The chicken udon had some chicken fat that should have been trimmed off of the chicken prior to cooking.

The miso soup was decent and the service was OK.

But the truth is, bad service and good food is always preferable to good service and bad food.

After a nice, fun-filled day at next door Great Wolf Lodge, my family and our friends were starving and didn't feel like Great Wolf food. It was around 9:30 PM when we (a party of nine, six adults and three kids) when we came in. Yup, thirty minutes before closing time.

The waitress sat us, smile on her face but somewhat in a hurry, but menus were given and waters were passed. Upon ordering, she made it a point to let us know, and I mean LET US KNOW, that it was last call since it was 30 minutes to closing. I get it. The staff wanted to go home. It's probably been a long day. But a customer is still a customer, whether they show up 30 minutes after opening or 30 minutes before closing; no need to make them feel like they got to go. So we ordered. We were a big party, but we were the only ones there. So I'm wondering... why did it take so long so serve the food? Sushi can take a while to prepare, but I've been to sushi restaurants that are way more packed that got the food out way faster. Fortunately, I was the first of our party to get my order, but my poor wife was one of the last ones, who must've gotten her order almost 20-30 minutes after I did.

The sushi was ok. Admittedly, it was probably good just because I was really hungry. Hunger is the best spice, right? I actually wanted to order more, but... you know... it's very important the we remember last call.

Like I said, I get that we came late, but I feel that they did not respect the customer. If they didn't want anymore customers to come in, lock the door at 10 pm, but take care of whoever is already i there. You know, the ones that came before the official closing time.

Next time I'm at Great Wolf Lodge and not in the mood for Great Wolf Lodge food, I'm going to the McDonalds across the street. Seriously.

If I can avoid leaving bad reviews I would. But this place is just waaay too overpriced for a very small servings. The staffs are unfriendly.

To start, this place is overpriced for low quality Japanese food and it's completely dead. Our table was the only one during rush hour.
I order a Salmon skin salad and it's the worst salmon skin salad I've ever had. The lady said it was authentic so it's not like how other Japanese restaurants are making. The skin is soft and has a strong fishy smell/taste. $8.00 in the trash. Can't exchange for another dish.
    DO NOT eat here!
